Some four years ago a committee was formed to put together a community directory. The committee produced a paper based directory that included over 50% of Marina Del Sol homeowners. When the new community web site came into being, the paper directory information was incorporated into the underlying Google technology (GMail Contacts) and an update/new homeowner form was included.
In 2012 the Directory Committee reformed from the the original committee and volunteers. That new Directory Committee's focus was on increasing the number of homeowners in the directory, and updating homeowner information.
The Committee includes:

Rita Walthaus ritawalthaus@earthlink.net
Ann Hanna aphanna@yahoo.com
Laraine O'Neill laraine.j.oneill@gmail.com
Shawn Fyfe Shawnfyfe@msn.com
Donnie Lallande kerryanddonnie@verizon.net
Julie Finger jfinger35@verizon.net

Maggie O'Reilly e.maggie@mac.com
Status
The Committee now have an electronic draft of the future MDS homeowners directory - it will shortly be distributed to homeowners for review. The good news is that Rita and Laura, who focus on the directory construct, have reviewed it and are on-board with the directory form, function and emerging distribution process.
Directory Entry Process
Just to confirm:
Master Directory - the "master directory" which we are updating is electronic and built into the Google account that underpins the MDS web site
Baseline Content - The master reflects the original paper directory content and includes all updates made via the MDS web site form (click here to view) and known
Focal Point - Maggie O'Reilly (on the web site team) is acting as the focal point for all changes and new homeowner entries - she will accept emails, web site entered forms or just about anything
Data Collection - which the committee are all involved in, is underway and the process is spelled out on the web site (click here to view)
Directory Construct
The shortly to be circulated directory design involved:
Baseline - taking a raw print version of the Google (master) directory
Clean-up - focusing on layout and pagination (in other words, modern type setting)
Cover - HOA & Mgt. company contact list, and the rules that apply to the directory
Draft - PDF file will send electronically to everyone in the directory after update
Paper Directory - paper directory will printed from the PDF as needed
The directory itself is in homeowner name sequence. The PDF format is universally supported by Adobe; a reader/search tool is available on PCs, Macs & iPads. This means that homeowners can view and/or print their own copy. More importantly, the PDF directory can use the "search/find" function to view all homeowners in a street, or in fact use any criteria they chose.
Your Input
After incorporating your comments, I'm suggesting that I email a version of this note out to everybody in the directory with a note similar to this one and reminding them that they should check/update their own entry. Clearly I won't do this unless you all agree. The golden rule is that homeowners only get a copy of the directory it they are in it
